A new update for the PS4 is entering its beta phase as Sony will be adding some new services to the party feature. SIE is undergoing a recruitment period for beta testers in North America, Japan and soon enough, Europe to give the new features a go before the update is released. Testers must be apart of Sony’s PlayStation Preview Program.
The new update will double the party size from eight players to sixteen along with improving both voice chat audio and network connectivity. While the update doesn’t sound overly substantial, it’s a neat feature that allows for those massive parties made up of big MMO groups or other large online gaming hubs.
There’s also a North American exclusive feature which will transcript voice audio into text (or vice-versa) for those who are using the PS4 Second Screen App for smartphones. The voice-to-text transcription is only available in English.
If you’re interested, be sure to keep an eye on your messages or email and head on over to PlayStation Blog for more details on how to sign up for the program for the beta testing period.
