PS5 Games Will Not Be Gen Exclusive

The latest report from Bloomberg reveals that Sony is planning a similar approach to Microsoft’s. PS5 launch titles are expected to work with the PS4, meaning that some of the games will not be gen exclusive. It is worth mentioning that Sony has not revealed which titles will work this way, but it has been suggested thatat least Sony’s IPs will be playable on the PlayStation 4.

Reports from the International Business Times suggest that Sony is planning  to ease up the transition for players who currently invested on a Sony console. This could also be an unavoidable strategy for Sony, as the analyst recently suggested that the price of the PS5 might be a tough pill to swallow for most of new players.

Experts at The Motley Fool analyze the situation, and “the flash memory prices could jump by 40% in 2020”, the cause is due to high demand in the smartphone market who might be a priority for the manufacturers of this kind of hardware. As it has been confirmed the Sony PS5 and the Microsoft Xbox Series X will boast solid-state storage devices, those  who rely on flash memory chips. Analyst expects the PlayStation 5 to cost over $400, some even claim that the only way to make it profitable is to be at least $450 while some even say that it will cost $500.

CEO Jim Ryan has suggested that “There are still more unique elements for PlayStation 5 to come that separate it from previous consoles”.

“Each time a new console is released, the processor and graphics improve,” Ryan said. “Those are enticing of course, but we need to have special appeals as well. We have already confirmed the use of an solid-state drive. Having load times that are next to nothing is a major change.

This is the latest official information from Sony, where Jim Ryan talk with Business Insider Japan about how the PlayStation 5 will be different from previous releases, the console is not focusing on raw performance, but to improve the gameplay.

“3D audio and the haptic feedback support of the controller are also things that, when you try them, you will be surprised at how big a change they are. Even just playing the racing game Gran Turismo Sport with a PlayStation 5 controller is a completely different experience.

While it runs well with the previous controller, there is no going back after you experience the detailed road surface via haptic control and play using the adaptive triggers.”
