has recently announced RageGear mode, colorblind options, and a crackdown on cheating at the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 Fall Split Global Finals. With every new update and announcement, mobile seems to be the best way to experience PUBG these days.
The first announcement, RageGear mode, is out now for players to try. RageGear, pits six teams of two against each other for vehicular combat. One player drives while the other focuses on gunning down the competition. There are Vehicle Item boxes spread throughout the map that give players either a 4 second immunity shield, a wide-range explosive mine, and a smoke grenade that makes the user not targetable by enemy lock-on weapons.
There are two versions of the game available for players. The first one is standard team deathmatch where the first team to reach a certain number of kills wins. The other mode is Pick Up where teams grab Point Crates that drop around the map. If a team dies, they drop their points and other teams can pick them up. The team who reaches a required amount of points wins.
There is also a much-needed colorblind feature in the works for people who have trouble seeing certain objects in-game. Vincent Wang, General Manager of Global Publishing at Tencent Games said this feature will be coming in 2020.
He talked about their new anti-cheat initiative called “Project: Ban Pan” as well. This program will use internal security system and out-of-game resources to detect cheaters easier than it did before. It will work with their already established Safety Station website, which addresses and stops people suspected of cheating.
Now that the event is over, we know that there were 532 million total views for the event’s livestream. Tencent also announced that over 600 million people have downloaded the game. People are more excited than ever about PUBG Mobile and the future to come for the game in 2020.
