PUBG Update 5.2 Now Live on PC

Update 5.2 is now live on PUBG

, introducing the Spike Trap, Vikendi updates, and more.

The new Spike Trap functions as a vehicle stopper. Players can “deploy these spiked surprises in the path of an oncoming vehicle to quickly and effectively burst their tires.” Gamers can also use Spike Traps to fortify their bridge camp. However, once placed, Spike Traps cannot be picked up again and only affect one vehicle each. The devices spawn across all Battlegrounds.

Vikendi’s buildings and terrain are also receiving updates. “Several of Vikendi’s key locations have had some updates to improve map navigation and match flow. Some buildings have been removed or replaced to improve gameplay. The field of vision gained from high buildings has been adjusted through structural changes.”

The update also implements a Map Waypoint system. While players have their map open, they can select specific areas to place up to four waypoints for their team to follow.

Furthermore, Update 5.2 will be coming to consoles next week. The full patch notes are also available here.

PUBG has also been increasing its presence on Android and iOS through the promotion of PUBG Mobile and the PUBG Mobile Open 2019.

PUBG launched on March 23, 2017 and is available on Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game features online multiplayer battle royale and is developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. It is credited as one of the first games, along with Fortnite, in recent years to spark the popularity of the battle royale game mode that has since been implemented in games like Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.
