Unlike its predecessors, Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, this is an authentic RPG featuring dungeons, random encounters, and the series’ traditional puzzle-based battle system. There is also a new “Capture Mode,” where you fill up an enemy monster’s “Capture Gauge” also using the series’ traditional puzzle gameplay. If you successfully defeat a monster in this mode, you’ll get materials for “Soul Armor,” equipment bestowed with the power of your ally monsters, each with its own leader skills, and that changes the appearance of the hero. You can create Soul Armor at the Soul Armor Store in town.
The game is set on “Dorogoza Island,” and island naturally rich in “Drop” energy. Here, players can give the five Drop energy attributes (fire, water, wood, light, and darkness) to friendly monsters and engage in puzzle battles against enemy monsters.
Over 500 monsters will appear. And by using equipment endowed with the power of monsters, the hero can use that monster’s skills, as well.
Puzzle & Dragons X will release in Japan in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
Check out the Opening:
“Puzzle & Dragons X has the same puzzle system as we’ve seen in Puzzle & Dragons Z and the original mobile game, but the new game has more of focus on its story and RPG elements, where you’ll get to explore dungeons and various fields.”
