Resurfacing at E3 2021 with a new name, Rainbow Six: Extraction was one of many games to get delayed from the end of this year to early next year. With 2021 winding to a close, and hopefully all the bad vibes that came along with it, the industry has turned to hype the games that will kick-off 2022.
Set to launch on January 20, 2022, Rainbox Six: Extraction has received a press release detailing Ubisoft‘s plans both for releasing the title, as well as supporting its past launch. A spin-off of a limited-time mode featured in Rainbow Six: Seige, the game will attempt to offer a 4-player co-op experience to players.
the game will feature two versions, a Standard Edition that will cost $39.99, and a Deluxe Edition that will be available for $49.99. Both of these will offer access to all operatives available at launch, 12 maps that are each bigger than your standard Seige map, over 60 weapons, legacy Rainbow Six Seige tech, and 15 exclusive react tech. They will both also feature access to the free post-launch roadmap that includes weekly challenges.
Another thing both versions will offer is two Buddy Pass tokens. These tokens will allow people who purchase the game to play with friends who have not. These buddy passes only last 14 days once activated but will work across platforms, allowing somebody who purchased the game on the PlayStation 5 to play with a friend who has not on the Xbox Series X. The game will feature full cross-play, cross-save, and cross-progression and buddy pass users can transfer their progress to the full game.
The Digital Version will come with three exclusive content packs called The Noxious Touch Pack, the Obscura Pack, and The React Strike Pack. The packs will offer players that invest the $10 additional dollars with cosmetics, weapon skins, and charms for their guns. Players that play Rainbow Six: Siege and now Rainbow Six: Extraction will receive the United Front bundle with grants players four exclusive gearsets which are split between both games, as well as instant access to all 18 operatives in Extraction.
Rainbow Six: Extraction will see teams of three facing off against again and alien horde for the face of humanity and will be available on January 20, 2022, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Stadia, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store. Players who subscribe to Ubisoft+ on PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna will also have access through playing it this way only affords the player access to the base game with no buddy passes or content packs.
