Ubisoft has recently announced that Rainbow Six Quarantine and Far Cry 6 have both been pushed to Ubisoft’s next financial year, which begins in April 2021. The developer affirms that the delays are caused by COVID-19.

While the COVID-19 has caused several delays in the industry, the delay of both games seems to be of a more financial nature, the company recently launched Watch Dogs: Legion, while Assasins’ Creed Valhalla will release in the following weeks, both games help the company to close the current financial year with significant profits.
CEO Yves Guillemot affirmed in Ubisoft’s Q3 Financial Year 2020 Investor Call that the publisher will release five AAA games in 2021, is important to consider that even if the executive may have underestimated the COVID-19 situation back then, the push of two AAA games for the next financial year might be wise from a business standpoint.
