Late last week, a 4chan user appeared to have leaked what looked to be a PC version of Rockstar’s western adventure, Red Dead Redemption II. While everything that was stated wasn’t too far-fetched to believe – including the supposed Epic Games Store exclusivity – another “leak” from the same user points towards the whole thing being fake.
A post written out exactly like the Red Dead II leak appears to assume Super Mario Odyssey is heading over to PC, along with an Epic Games Store exclusive deal. While the Red Dead II leak was believable due to Rockstar releasing previous titles on PC before, Nintendo has never willingly released any of their exclusive titles on anything other than Nintendo hardware.
With all of this said, it seems as though this particular user is simply having fun with the community by getting their hopes worked up. While Take-Two – parent company of 2K games and Rockstar – does have an exclusive deal with Epic Games to release the upcoming Borderlands 3 six months ahead of it releasing on Steam, there seems to be less credibility following this user after the Super Mario Odyssey PC “leak”.
For comparison, here’s both the Red Dead Redemption II post followed by the Super Mario Odyssey post:
“Howdy Partners, It’s me again. Famous 4chan leaker. So i got some great news, and not so great news. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced for PC on the 22nd of April at 9AM PST (California). It will be releasing July 9th, 2019. The bad news, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. It will not get a Steam release, this is not a time exclusive deal. The reason being is Take-Two made a deal with Epic, allowing Take-Two to take full profit on DLC released for the game. Valve currently takes a 30% profit from any in-game purchases.”

The same user later responds as to saying that Waluigi will become a playable character in the PC version of Odyssey, as well. Again, this all seems undeniably fake.
In the past, 4chan has successfully leaked details regarding the recently announced Borderlands 3, not all rumors on the site are viable. According to the leak last week, we should know for sure if the rumor is true as it states a reval for Red Dead Redemption II is planned for April 22.
Until then, stay on your guard for any fishy leaks and stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated on any more news regarding the subject.
