Reedpop Cancels Partnership With ESA, E3 Will be “Reinvented”

Reedpop, the event company who announced its partnership with E3 company ESA, has announced the cancellation of their partnership. This is following the previously announced cancellation of E3 2023. The company also confirmed that the event will not take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center this next year. While the event will not hold in the same way, the ESA states that it has not completely cancelled the event, and according to GamesIndustry.biz, the company is working on a reinvention of the convention for 2025.

ReedPop global vice president of gaming Kyle Marsden-Kish commented on the event’s cancellation saying:

“This was a difficult decision because of all the effort we and our partners put toward making this event happen, but we had to do what’s right for the industry and what’s right for E3,” “We appreciate and understand that interested companies wouldn’t have playable demos ready and that resourcing challenges made being at E3 this summer an obstacle they couldn’t overcome. For those who did commit to E3 2023, we’re sorry we can’t put on the showcase you deserve and that you’ve come to expect from ReedPop’s event experiences.”

ESA president and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis:

“We appreciate ReedPop’s partnership over the past 14 months and support their ongoing efforts to bring industry and fans together through their various events.

While the reach of E3 remains unmatched in our industry, we are continuing to explore how we can evolve it to best serve the video game industry and are evaluating every aspect of the event, from format to location. We are committed to our role as a convenor for the industry and look forward to sharing news about E3 in the coming months.”
