Relics Update Released for The Black Death

Relics Update Released for The Black Death

It was announced by Green Man Gaming Publishing and Small Impact Games, the release of Relics, the latest update for their medieval multiplayer survival game, The Black Death. The Relics update will see players hunt down and fight for newly introduced legendary items in the game. Players will also have more areas to explore and improved combat abilities in the world of Mercia.

Check out the update trailer of the Black Death, featuring some gameplay footage:

“The Relics are unique and powerful items that appear in a random location, and limited to one per server. Players are prompted when they are near the relic – even if someone else has already picked it up and is walking around the world. This gives all players the chance to hunt down the items, or fight to steal them.

To enhance the exploration of the world, new areas have also been added to the game that are filled with bandits, raiders, and plague. These areas provide the toughest challenges the game has seen yet, and players that dare face these new areas are bound to be rewarded with lavish loot.

In addition, an all new combat system has been introduced, addressing fan feedback. Weapon swings are more accurate than ever before, allowing you to dismember your opponents. To support this, new animations have been introduced to make you feel closer to the action.

“Since launch, we have continually experimented with our combat system. For the ‘Relics’ update, we overhauled combat from scratch. Not only does this improve the player experience, it serves as a foundation for additional improvements further down the line,” said Peter Harries, Producer at Small Impact.

“We have seen players become more and more engaged with the world of The Black Death – many of the books you can find and villages you come across have all been named by the community. With the Relics update, Small Impact have delivered new reasons to visit the world, areas to explore, and loot to find,” said Gary Rowe, EVP Publishing at Green Man Gaming.
