Resident Evil 0, 1 and 4 are Coming To Switch

Capcom has just announced that three Resident Evil titles are coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 21. Pre-orders starts on February 28th and players can get Resident Evil 0, 1 and 4.

Capcom confirmed that in North America Switch owners will be able to purchase Resident Evil Origins Collection at retail, this collection bundles together both Resident Evil 0 and 1.

Resident Evil 0 originally launched for the Nintendo GameCube back in 2002 though being planned to be released for the Nintendo 64, it serves as a prequel of the original Resident Evil and tells the story of the nightmare experienced in the Arklay Mountains by the special police force, S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team. The game follows officer Rebecca Chambers and convicted criminal Billy Coen as they go through an abandoned training facility for employees of the pharmaceutical company Umbrella.

The original Resident Evil will also be able to buy through the Nintendo’s eShop, it’s the same game that released in 1996 and quickly became a fans’ favorite. In case you don’t know the game follows Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, members of  S.T.A.R.S., as they investigate the outskirts of Raccoon City after some of his team went missing. They soon become trapped in a mansion infested with zombies and other monsters.

In the early concept of Resident Evil the producer Tokuro Fujiwara was planning the game as a remake of his earlier horror game Sweet Home from 1989 but Capcom handed the production and direction of the game to Shinji Mikami who made several redesigns. The game was originally planed to release for the Nintendo Super Nintendo back in 1993, then was revamped as a fully 3D first person game for the Sony PlayStation and then finally it was converted to the third-person with pre-rendered backdrops we all loved.

Resident Evil 4 followed the same formula of recent games, a survival horror adventure developed by Capcom, it was the sixth major installment in the series and released originally for the Nintendo GameCube in 2005, players tke the role of U.S. government Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy who is sent on a mission to rescue the President’s daughter Ashley Graham who was kidnapped by a cult. Capcom started the development of Resident Evil 4 back in 1999 originally for the Sony PlayStation 2, but like previous games it was subject of several changes Capcom appointed again veteran Shinji Mikami.
