Fiscal year 2019 is getting over soon and publishers are revealing their overall performance during the year, while explaining their expectations and plans for the following year. For Capcom, 2019 seems to be an epic one with releasing two masterpiece-in-class that also have done great in terms of sales.
Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 both are this year’s top releases from Capcom and new statistics for shipping numbers shows an acceptable success for them. Before diving into data, please note that all the numbers are covering the sales until the end of March 2019. Resident Evil 2, which made its way through current-gen platforms as a remake in early 2019, has managed to ship over 4.2 million units, making it to capture the 10th place in Capcom’s best-selling games in the whole history.
On the other hand, the long-awaited sequel for DMC series shipped 2.1 million copies and the number will surely increase in the following months as the data gets updated to cover Spring’s sales too. More accurately, Devil May Cry 5 has reached such a shipment in just 23 days.
Finally, its time to talk about Capcom’s best-selling title ever that has reached 12.4 shipping record, based on the latest data, and you bet the amount push the boundaries even further for Capcom, as Iceborne DLC will be available soon for Monster Hunter World.
Unfortunately, Capcom’s report doesn’t revealed so much about its upcoming projects, except pointing out that there are several under-development projects with RE Engine for next-gen platforms.
