Gamestop has obtained the right to be the sole retailer who carries an exclusive Collector’s Edition of the Resident Evil 3 Remake, which is now available for pre-order.
The Resident Evil 3 Remake Collector’s Edition possesses a physical copy of the game, a printed artbook, an 11-inch Jill Valentine figure, a Raccoon City map, and a digital soundtrack, all of which is packaged inside a S.T.A.R.S item box. The Collector’s Edition is available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for USD $179.99 and will not be available for players on PC.
Resident Evil 3 Remake was announced by Capcom earlier in December 2019. The game is set to release on April 3, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is coming to capitalize on the success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake—which has outsold the original version of the game.
Similar to the Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake will feature third-person shooter gameplay, shifting away from the tank controls and fixed camera angles of the original versions of both games. Moreover, the game includes an online multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance, which implements cooperative play between a team of four players who must survive and combat against a “mastermind” who can create traps, enemies, and other hazards.
The game’s revamped story is set in September 1998, before the events of Resident Evil 2. Players will take control of Jill Valentine as she “attempts to escape Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse caused by an outbreak of the T-Virus. Jill is hunted by an intelligent bioweapon known as Nemesis, who attempts to kill her and all remaining S.T.A.R.S members.
