Resident Evil 3 Remake Might Get First Update Since Launch – Rumor

Resident Evil 3 Remake

did not get the warm and fuzzy reception that its predecessor got upon its launch. Players felt the game was lacking content and simply not as fun as the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Reportedly at the time, both games were intended to be sold as a collection with them ultimately being broken up shortly before launch.

A year later it appears the game is set to get an update, more specifically the first update to the core game since the game launched back in 2020. This is according to QA branches in the Steam Database listing for the title. While this has only been seen on Steam, it stands to reason the game will also be getting updated for PlayStation and Xbox should this turn out to be true.

Resident Evil 3 Remake never received any post-launch updates, however, Capcom continued to support its multiplayer side, Resident Evil Resistance, for several months post-launch. These multiplayer adjustments ranged from balance reworks to bug fixes as well as performance overhauls.

The game also saw free content updates such as survivor skins, creatures, skill cards, and playable maps. Jill Valentine also joined the multiplayer companion piece, being added as a survivor character.

As spotted by Wccftech, the Steam Database listing for Resident Evil 3 Remake boasted five new QA branches, with the furthest dating back to about 13 days ago. The most recent of these to go live did so two days ago and was labeled “qa dev (TU1),” with the TU1 most likely meaning Title Update 1.

Since this will be a first for RE3R it is hard to say just what this might add or fix. On the converse side RE2R which saw frequent updates often saw minor patches for bug fixes, stability adjustments, as well as the free DLC The Ghost Survivors content. We will have to wait and see what the game will get.
