Resident Evil 5 for Xbox Series X/S ESRB Rating Spotted Online

A new ESRB rating has been spotted online for an Xbox Series X/S version of Resident Evil 5. This could suggest that a native version of the game for the platform is imminent. The game is rated M for Mature.  Resident Evil 5 first launched on October 5, 2009 and is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The listing’s description:

This is a survival-horror game in which players assume the roles of two agents attempting to stop a viral outbreak. From a third-person perspective, players explore environments, solve puzzles, and battle mutated humans and creatures. Players use pistols, shotguns, machine guns, knives, and grenades to kill enemies. Combat is highlighted by cries of pain, realistic gunfire, and blood-splatter effects. Some attacks result in dismemberment and/or decapitation. Several environments depict bloodstains, corpses, and internal organs scattered around. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence and/or blood and gore: a man eaten by a crocodile; a character dramatically impaled; a character killed by a chainsaw attack; a character bit in half by a mutated creature. The word “f**k” appears in the game.

Resident Evil 5 details:

One of the most popular Resident Evil titles can now be played on the go, featuring Chris Redfield and his partner Sheva Alomar, as they venture to the heart of Africa to investigate an outbreak. Featuring single-player and co-op modes, this fully-loaded release includes all previously released DLC (Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape story expansions, Versus mode, extra figures and 4 costumes), No Mercy mode, as well as the new mode “The Mercenaries United” which combines the two fan-favorite modes, The Mercenaries and The Mercenaries Reunion for an even more intense experience.
