Resident Evil 7 Next-Gen Upgrade Is Coming Says Leaker

According to the latest information from Aesthetic Gamer (Dusk Golem on the ResetEra Forums), Capcom is working on a “patch” that will take Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 with next-gen upgrades.

Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.

I know VR was in at some point, I don’t know the current status. To do VR they need a consistent performance for motion sickness, I guess to see. There is other things that are 100% happening they for some reason didn’t mention here though, like the RE7 Next-Gen patch though.

Aesthetic Gamer also affirmed that virtual reality was planned for the upcoming Resident Evil Village, however, Capcom might have decided that VR games require significantly higher frame rates to eliminate motion sickness. Apparently, the Japanese developer opted for graphics fidelity and a more traditional launch.

Aesthetic Gamer announced that he wouldn’t be leaking more information from game development studios over the guilt that he is feeling, however, he revealed what he thinks about the next installment of the franchise.

I said this before, I’ll say this again, I think Village has one of the strongest aesthetics the series has had in a while, and the game giving the characters a ton of personality is very appealing.

Lady Dimitrescu, Heisenberg, Duke, the monsters and everything have both great designs & good “large” personalities. This is hard to word, but RE4 had an actually very simple story, but its elevated by a great setting with lager then life characters.

RE8 is differently toned, but it has similar atmosphere aesthetic appeal & large personalities, just with stronger horror focus, tapping more into classic “Gothic” horror stylings, and frankly just judging off of Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg, they’re very solidly voice acted.

At the moment of writing, there are no official details on what are the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 patches and updates to Resident Evil 7, but we can assume that next-gen consoles will feature a general graphical upgrade, and perhaps the introduction of RayTracing.
