Resident Evil 9 May be An Open World Game

According to recent statements from prominent leaker Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 could be an open-world game. According to the leaker, the game is utilizing Dragon’s Dogma 2’s RE Engine open-world tech. “Dragon’s Dogma 2 expanded RE Engine functionality for open-world games,” said the leaker, “the two other games building on this tech is Monster Hunter Wild & Resident Evil 9.” Its worth noting that the next Resident Evil game has yet to be announced.According to claims made in February from the same leaker, five Resident Evil games are currently in development. Additionally, he stated he received a new update from someone that the next Resident Evil project will not release until 2026 or early 2027. The latest title in the series, Resident Evil 4 remake, launched on March 24th, 2023. According to past rumors, the next Resident Evil game is titled “ApocaIXpse” similar to its predecessor Resident Evil VILLAGE, which combines its name with roman numerals. It’s claimed to be single player only with no co-op. The game’s story will feature Chris Redfield after the events of Resident Evil Village as he heads towards the BSAA in Europe.
