Prominent leaker and insider Dusk Golem recently took to Twitter to address and discuss upcoming Resident Evil remakes. According to the leaker, Resident Evil 1 and 5 will not receive a remake despite what past leaks have suggested. However, Resident Evil Zero will receive one, along with Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, which serves as a follow up to Resident Evil 2. The remakes are reportedly currently in development. These claims were notably also corroborated by VGC’s Andy Robinson. Lastly, the insider also claims that Resident Evil 9 has been internally pushed back to late 2025/2026. It’s worth noting none of these claims have been confirmed by Capcom.Back in July of last year, Capcom announced it is considering remakes of non-numbered Resident Evil Games. When asked about its plans for more remakes in the series, specifically if the remakes will be for numbered entries alone, the publisher responded that it was “carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of this series so it can be enjoyed by a wide audience.”
