Retail Versions of Zombi coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC

For those of you who wanted to play Zombi but live in the good old days of physical media and also didn’t jump into the Wii U bandwagon at launch, there is good news. There is a physical version coming for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The retail version of Zombi will be available to purchase on January 21, 2016, at retail stores.

Zombi is a port of the Wii U launch game, Zombi U, it’s a first person survival horror that adds gameplay elements from dark souls, making it a game about pure survival with dire consequences if you die, such as losing all your items until you can find the corpse of the last survivor you were playing and get those items back.

Even though the game received lackluster reviews from major gaming websites, it still has a dedicated fan-base that is alive and well to this day and although Ubisoft has claimed that the game was not a commercial success, it did manage to sell more than 500k units and at the time, the Wii U sold 3.5 million units, so it as a good attach ratio for a launch game, however nowadays, games need to sell millions of copies to be considered a success.

“After being one of the Wii U flagship titles in 2012, Zombi returns to an infected London challenging players to dive into the horror and survive. Players can now experience this fear-fueled first person shooter with the original oppressive and intense elements that made ZombiU so innovative, optimized for a new generation of hardware. A number of updates have also been introduced in this reawakened version, including new melee weapons, faster load times, improved flashlight gameplay and overall visual effects.”
