The new co-op beat ’em up title form indie developers WayForward, River City Girls, was announced earlier this year and is set to release in just a couple of months. Recently, at Anime Expo 2019 some new gameplay footage has surfaced for the game, giving fans a good look at what to expect from the upcoming retro-inspired River City title.

There seems to be a lot to like for fans craving the vintage play style of beat ’em ups and co-op gameplay. River City Girls will have six regions to combat your way through in either one or local two player action. Along the way players will find and utilize new weapons and abilities, as well as have a run-in with some of the original River City crew.
We can expect to see River City Girls hit on September 5, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
