Rocket League Removed From Steam

Rocket League

has been delisted on Steam as part of the game’s transition to free-to-play on all platforms. This means that new players will only be able to download the game via Epic Games Store.

Notice: At the request of the publisher, Rocket League® is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search.

Interestingly, Epic Games Store is offering a 10 USD coupon for players who download the game its games launcher.

An Epic Coupon is applied at checkout when purchasing eligible games on the Epic Games Store. All Epic Coupons received for placing an order for Rocket League on Epic Games Store will expire on November 1st, 2:59 AM EST.

Rocket League, is free on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Players on Nintendo Switch will not require a Switch Online subscription to play online matches. Psyonix does not specify if PlayStation users will also be able to join online friends without the need of PlayStation Plus.

Players will be able to link an Epic Games Account to a Rocket League profile, this means that players can transfer Competitive rank, inventory, Rocket Pass progress, between platforms. However, some Steam players are experiencing bugs in their inventory, the situation has led several users to express the anger of the transition of the game to the Epic Games Store.

Steam has responded by categorizing the reviews as ‘Off-Topic’ something that angered, even more, the annoyed users, as Steam’s response is seen as part of the problem.

Rocket Player Squanch shares his frustration with a negative review, here is what the 1000 hour-player has to say about the Epic Games Store inclusion to the game.

So Epic takes over, breaks the game, can’t connect to the Epic Services so I can’t play, takes away garage items, and then Steam blocks new reviews due to “off-topic” review activity unless you change the settings manually. Went from a game a played daily to a game I literally can’t play.
