Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s newest project since his departure from Konami. Previously he was supposed to work on the Silent Hills project P.T. that gained much popularity, but ultimately was cancelled by Konami. Now that he’s working on Death Stranding, he’s been very cryptic and secretive about what the game’s story is about and what even the gameplay is like.
Recently some new teasers have been released this week showing off some previously-seen game scene footage being covered by a lone handprint. They even presented a Death Stranding stream that showed looping trailer footage with several handprints covering the screen. So whatever the game is, Kojima promises more information on May 30th.
Well now it seems like this unique horror game will have a release date very late into the PlayStation 4’s lifecycle according to the official Taiwanese PlayStation Facebook page. The game is going to be released in early 2019 with the official release being set for November 8. Now this means that there’s a chance that the game might be released during the time the next PlayStation console comes out. Well according to leak, it blatantly still says the game will come out for the PS4 Pro and PS4 consoles, so the game may be a cross-generational release.
As the game is on everybody’s radar, people are clamoring over any new information being released about Death Stranding. From what we’ve heard, it’s going to be something players have never seen before. Even now more and more leaks are coming from Death Stranding. A promotional on the PlayStation Store was leaked showing off some pre-order bonus content that mostly shows cosmetic items including a Dynamic Theme, Gold “Sam” Sunglasses, Gold Armor Plates, Gold Hat, Gold Speed Skeleton, a dynamic theme, and a PSN Avatar of the Chibi Ludens.
As of now, the true nature of Death Stranding is still being hidden from us. Fortunately on the 30th, more information will come out soon.
