While many of Sony fans are still fighting through hordes of freakers in the recent release of Days Gone, many more are preparing for Naughty Dog’s Last of Us Part II title. With Sony skipping out on E3, which occurs in almost a month from now, these same fans are eager to know when we’ll see more of the game; and, more importantly, when we’ll get a release date for the game.
A known ResetEra user and industry insider by the name of Aokiji – who has leaked vital information correctly before, most notably the reveal of Sony’s State of Play live stream event – has given us a glimmer of hope that we’ll be seeing more of the upcoming sequel soon. They state that Sony will be showing off more of the game before this year’s E3 event; which should be within the next month.
With no such event currently announced by Sony, it should be noted that Sony themselves didn’t reveal their State of Play scheduled event until only a few days prior. This leaves us with just over 30 days for Sony (or Naughty Dog themselves) to announce some sort of event which could potentially contain the latest news from the world of the Last of Us Part II.
While we’ve recently been teased by the developers that cinematic shooting has been successfully finished, along with the game being in development for quite some time and now with Days Gone out of the way after its release last week, many are assuming the only AAA exclusives left are Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding and, of course, Last of Us Part II.
These three titles are definitely highly anticipated, but there are still a few other exclusives that should still release before any of those bigger budget titles – those titles, being Concrete Genie, Dreams and the MediEvil remake.
So while this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt considering we’ve yet to hear anything official from Sony, keep your ears to the ground for more updates as we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we hear something.
