Rumor: PS5 To be Revealed on February

According to latest rumor, Sony is planning a big reveal next month. A Twitter user who goes by the name, ADDMoore93 claims that some developers “suggested”  that PS5 ‘s reveal will happen next month.

“Rumours from major publications such as EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix and Activision suggest that PlayStation will be doing their reveal event early February and invites will be sent out next week keep your eyes peeled.”

This rumor has been discussed on ResetEra forums and NeoGaf. Some points at the lack of evidence this rumor has.

This rumor has at least some credibility, back in February 20,2013 Sony hosted a PlayStation Meeting at New York City. The purpose of the event was to cover the “Future of PlayStation”. Sony officially announces the PlayStation 4 on that day.

While ADDMoore93’s tweet lacks of proof, or some background on how he had this information. But his tweet is another demonstration of the hype surrounding the announcement for the next PlayStation Console, Sony has been very quiet about their hardware.

At CES 2020 PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan, announced a new logo and further discussed about the new technologies that would make the PS5 unique from other consoles.

CEO Jim Ryan added more hype as, earlier this week, he talked with Business Insider Japan and teased about ‘bigger differences’ are yet to be announced.

“Each time a new console is released, the processor and graphics improve,” Ryan said. “Those are enticing of course, but we need to have special appeals as well. We have already confirmed the use of an solid-state drive. Having load times that are next to nothing is a major change.
