While many may find it hard to believe considering the time of year, Target Australia has leaked a catalog image of Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 with a Switch banner.
The Switch has largely been regarded as a last gen port machine even though there have been plenty of large scale exclusives for the Nintendo hybrid, but this leak makes the console look even more promising. If there’s even the slightest chance the latest western epic could make its way over to the Switch, the sheer thought of taking RDR 2 on the go seems almost too good to be true – at least without some sort of ample downgrade.
We’ve seen other mature rated games make their way to the Switch like Doom 2016, Wolfenstein II and the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, as well as previous Take Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) related titles such as L.A. Noire and numerous 2K sports games. It would be hard to believe that Rockstar would release a barely 6 month old (not even) title on the Switch before the likes of the mega-popular GTA V would make and appearance, especially considering GTA V is technically a last gen title and would actually run well on the Switch console.
However, these leaks should be taken extremely lightly as there’s a good chance this was just a misprint on Target. Keep your eyes peeled for more details on this hard-to-believe, but not totally impossible rumor.
