It was a few days before E3 2019 that Ellie’s voice actor in The Last of Us Part 2 appeared in a YouTube show and teased us for a February launch, though she didn’t tell it completely. Now, a new rumor has come from a reliable source who has leaked the release date for Death Stranding correctly, claiming that the long-awaited sequel for Ellie’s journey in the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us will be coming in February next year.
According to ZhugeEX at ResetEra, The Last of Us Part 2 is going to release in February 2020, almost 3 months after the launch of Death Stranding on November 8. Furthermore, the source also leaked the editions of the game which contains 4 versions: Standard Edition, Special Edition, Collector’s Edition and Ellie Edition. Aside from the first three versions, Ellie Edition seems to be a really unique version of the game which might include an action figure of Ellie herself. On the hand, having a Special Edition might refer to having a season pass which could confirm the release of post-launch story-driven contents, just like the previous version of the game that launched for PS3 and its DLC released after the beginning of 8th generation of consoles.
The Last of Us Part 2 will be launching exclusively for PS4 and an enhanced edition for PS5 might be considered.
