S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Might Be Delayed By Several Months – Rumor

Players that are excited to finally return to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, might have to prepare for a long wait than initially expected. While originally planned to release on April 28, 2022, a new rumor suggests that it might not meet that window and might get delayed into Fall of this year, a roughly six-month delay.

Disclaimer – This information has not been verified on our end, therefore we cannot confirm this as factual.

According to Ukrainian YouTube OldBoi, who has made several claims about the game and developer GSC World Games in the past with relative success, He said the studio does not expect to meet their current release date and therefore the game will get delayed into August-October at the earliest. He also stated that, if this is true, there is a possibility that the game might not be released until 2023.

He went on to state that there might not be a long wait to find out if this is accurate or not as the company plans to reveal this during their next gameplay showcase, which makes sense if this info is already out there. Until that showcase, whenever it may be, It is worth still assuming that the game is still on schedule as only an official announcement from GSC World Games can change that fact.

While not know at present what has caused this delay it is possible that the course correction the company has taken on the inclusion of NFTs in the game has played some kind of part. The company had announced an NFT fueled “Stalker-Metaverse” that was quickly met with fan backlash. The company quickly changed its plans on the matter, but it was never made clear just how much work had been made on the ecosystem before it was announced and then scrapped.

Recently GSC World announced that the game would take up a whopping 190GB on your Xbox Series X.  S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chernobyl will be available for the Xbox Series X|S and on Microsoft Windows. It is being developed on Unreal Engine 5.
