According to reports from IGN and MyNintendoNews Japanese developer Soleil Games is tasked for the development of a Samurai Jack game called, Samurai Jack :Battle Through Time.
An official description for the game has been revealed, it read as follows:
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is set before Jack’s final fight with Aku, an evil entity that trapped Jack in alternate timelines throughout human history. Jack will have to fight through several different timelines in order to reach Aku and defeat him.
The script for the game is written by Head Writer Darrick Bachman. Bachman is a renowned force in the industry of animation, has he has spend nearly two decades writing for successful TV animated shows. Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Sym-Bionic Titan, Mickey Mouse and the fifth season of Samurai Jack. He has won two consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards in 2004 and 2005 for his work on Star Wars: Clone Wars. He later won another Emmy for the Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends TV-Movie Destination: Imagination.
Samurai Jack is an action-adventure animated TV-Series created by Genndy Tartakvsky for Cartoon Network, the show was shorty created by Tartakvsky after the success of Dexter’s Laboratory, and it’s set on a dystopian future ruled by the tyrannical shape-shifting demon Aku. The Japanese samurai uses a magic Katana capable of cutting through virtually anything.
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a new Hack-and-slash adventure game, it’s scheduled to launch this summer for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
The developer tasked to produce the game is Soleil Games, a studio formed by several producers and designers that had worked on several Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series.
