With news surrounding the recent announcement of a reboot of SNK’s weapons fighter Samurai Shodown, the veteran studio has also given a bit of nostalgia back to its audience with the upcoming NeoGeo Collection comprised of titles represented in the classic arcade years of the series.
Announced during SNK’s PAX East panel, the Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection will include six of the classic fighters from the series. Samurai Showdown I-V as well as V Special are all said to be included in the package.
The recent reveal of the reboot of Samurai Shodown has fans eager to step back into the series with all new flash and style. With this new vintage collection, newcomers and old-school gamers alike can experience where the series began in the arcades in 1993.
While the new reboot of Samurai Shodown is slated for release this June for the PS4 and Xbox One (PC and Switch in Q4 2019), we’ll have to wait until this Fall to get our hands on the six-game collection. The NeoGeo Collection is set to launch on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC as well.
