Schedule For Upcoming Sega Event ‘Sega Fes 2019’ Revealed

Sega has officially released the busy schedule for their upcoming Sega Fes 2019 event, which is being held in Tokyo, Japan next weekend. With big name titles like Persona, Phantasy Star Online and Yakuza expected to make an appearance one way or another, Sega Fes 2019 looks to be a jam-packed event all around.

The schedule is anything but small, filling the two weekend dates full of concerts, tournaments and much more. Below, you can find just a few of the major events taking place throughout the weekend.

Saturday March 30, 2019

  • 12:30 to 14:00 – Yakuza Fan Meeting 2019 at Sega Fes – A wonderful cast and Yakuza-loving comedians! In addition to a Yakuza cult quiz played by guests, presenters and guests will answer questions from the fans in this 90-minute Yakuza event. Featuring Toshihiro Nagoshi (Yakuza series general director), Masayoshi Yokoyama (Yakuza series chief producer), Akio Horii (Yakuza Online producer), and guests Takaya Kuroda (voice actor), Hidenari Ugaki (voice actor), Kazuhiro Nakaya (voice actor), Penguins (comedian), and NO Motion (comedian).
  • 17:00 to 18:30 – Sega Saturn 25th Anniversary Thanksgiving Stage – It has been 25 years since the release of Sega Saturn. Together with those involved in Sega Saturn and industry officials, we will reflect on the 25-year history of Sega Saturn,. Also, Hiroshi Fujioka, who appeared in television commercials and the like for Sega Saturn as promotional character Segata Sanshiro, will appear as a guest in what will surely be a headcrack of a stage event. Featuring Hideki Okamura (Sega Holdings executive manager and COO), Tadashi Takezaki (TMS Entertainment managing director), Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Sega Interactive sound creator and vocalist), and guests Hiroshi Fujioka (Segata Sanshiro), Katsuaki Katou (former Weekly Famitsu editor-in-chief), and Kouji Umeda (former Gemaga editor-in-chief).
  • 11:00 to 13:00 – Sega Fes News Channel: Mega Drive Mini Sidebar – Sega Fes News Channel will share various news from across Sega Group with special guests. The “Mega Drive Mini Sidebar” will feature all sorts of discussion related to Mega Drive Mini. Featuring Hiroyuki Miyazaki and Yosuke Okunari (Sega Games).

Sunday March 31, 2019

  • 10:00 to 12:00 – Puyo Puyo Championship: Pre-Nationals Commemoration Tournament – The “Puyo Puyo Championship: Pre-Nationals Commemoration Tournament,” an exhibition match featuring pro Puyo Puyo players, will be held. The top eight players that advanced in the “Puyo Puyo Championship February Tournament” will battle it out on stage. Featuring MCs Ayana Tsubaki and Yurika Tachibana, live Puyo Puyo eSports players Kumachomu, Tom, Oka, Kuroro, Piponia, Taiyou Amemiya, and Kamestry, and Puyo Puyo eSports players Pipioniya, MGR, Taiyou Amemiya, Live, COO, Makki, Kamestry, and Fron.
  • 14:00 to 15:00 – Phantasy Star Online 2 Station! at Sega Fes 2019 – The latest news on the online RPG Phantasy Star Online 2, as well as variety projects and more. New information includes details on Episode 6 and live gameplay of the new Episode 6 content “Final Fleet Interception Battle.” Featuring MCs Ayaka Suwa (voice actor), Nishi Nasunaka (comedian), and Mitsuhiro Ichiki (voice actor and guest MC), and guest Akio Kichioka (Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 6 director).
  • 16:50 to 17:45 – Persona 5 Mini Concert & Talk Stage – Following the final episode of Persona 5 the Animation, Morgana and Sadayo Kawami’s voice actors apear on stage as guests. In addition to the expected live concert from Lyn, DJ Waka’s DJ show is also worth the watch! Featuring MC Chiaki Matsuzawa (freelance announcer), and guests Ikue Otani (Morgana voice actor), Mai Fuchigami (Sadayo Kawakami voice actor), Lyn (vocalist), and DJ Waka.

The Sega Fes 2019 event is sure to reveal plenty of interesting details regarding some of the company’s critically acclaimed titles. With event panels looking to showcase the 25th year anniversary of the Sega Saturn, the Sega Mega Drive Mini and even a Persona 5 Mini Concert, the upcoming festival looks to be an exciting one.

In other Sega news, we’re expecting more details on the mysterious Persona 5 R on March 23, 2019 from developers Atlus. We’ve also learned that the Yakuza spin-off, Judgement, is still set to hold its western release date of June 25, 2019, even after the arrest of actor Pierre Taki.
