Ever wondered how you create characters or start out your legendary pirate in Sea of Thieves? Well, wonder no more. Gaming Instincts will be giving you the full rundown right here on how the character creator system works in Rare’s new-generation IP.
The character creator system is called Infinite Pirate Generator or IPG for short. As the name implies what it does is randomly generates eight different pirates for you to choose from. If you are not happy with the randomization that the IPG has given you then you are free to press the right trigger on your Xbox One controller to generate 8 more pirates and replace the old ones. You may do this to your heart’s content and until you are fully satisfied with your results. It’s a neat system that’s definitely different from other character creator systems that were used to in games such as World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, Fallout or traditional MMO’s or even role-playing games like Mass Effect.
IPG randomizes a combination of things such as age, gender, skin color, accessories and body type. The body type ranges from skinny, average, fat and somewhat bulky and muscular and of course the age goes between young, middle and old. Hair and facial hair is randomized as well. We’ve spent a good solid 10 to 15 minutes trying to figure out what kind of character we would like and it was quite interesting to see different results every time. In all honesty, it was actually kind of fun pressing right trigger repeatedly until you got to see what you wanted. What kind of pirate will you be playing in Sea of Thieves and what do you think of the IPG system? Let us know in the comments below.
