Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive, Rockstar said today that they confirm the theory that the game is a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption — the trailer shows us Dutch van der Linde, the ringleader of the gang that John Marston was forced to hunt down in that game.
Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.
Rockstar Games was planning to release the game this fall, but they announced in May this year, that they had to delay the game to Spring 2018. Today’s trailer didn’t gave us a clear release date, all that is currently known is that the game will be releasing sometime after april 1st, 2018, in the 2019 fiscal year of Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive. This could put the game’s launch eight years after the first red Dead Redemption, which launched on May 2010 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently in development on Playstation 4 and Xbox One at Rockstart Studios.
