The Game Gear Micro has been received with mixed critics, the device is as the name implies, micro, the screen is just a 1.15- inch screen, something that would make titles like Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special, very hard to play as it is a RPG based of text.

The original Game Gear planed to be a Game Boy killer, the portable console launched in North America in 1991, featured a very large design that was very impressive at the time, featuring a 3.2 backlit color screen, the Game Gear was targeted at a retail price of $150.

Is worth to mention that collectors of fans who want to play the whole 16 games included would need to buy all four version of the new portable console, adding up to a retail price of $200, the Japanese market is currently offering a bundle of the four consoles at a lower cost.
