The Serious Sam series is known for outlandish weapons, ridiculous enemies, and non-stop first-person shooter combat. While the official reveal trailer for Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour ditches the first-person elements, fans of the series will be happy to know that everything else has survived the series transition into a fresh new perspective.
Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour is a top-down action game where players will take on the role of Sam “Serious” Stone as they battle through Mediterranean locals, biological weapon labs, and much more.
The campaign can be played solo or via online co-op with two to four players, and it will feature an experience and level-up system. There will also be versus and survival modes, allowing up to 12 players duking it out simultaneously. The game will also release with a game editor, which will let players make their own mods.
Check out the Trailer:
The trailer shows off plenty of game modes, including co-op multiplayer, survival, and deathmatch, and there will also of course be full single-player in the campaign mode. It’s tagged as a reveal trailer, but if you’re interested then Crackshell hasn’t been shy about sharing the updates over the last few months. There’s only so many more preview videos in the pipeline, though, because Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour is set for a Summer release.
