Square Enix has officially released Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Coming to Google Stadia later in November with the launch of the console.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition gives players access to the base game and all seven post-launch DLC. Moreover, those who purchase the Definitive Edition will be granted every challenge tomb, downloadable weapon, outfit, and skill. Those who missed out on the original game with each subsequent DLC can now get this all-in-one version of the title on Steam or the online store for each respective console (PS4 and Xbox One), as well as physical copies available at retailers in certain countries.
The announcement trailer for the Definitive Edition was released on October 15, 2019.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider launched for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 14, 2018 and is a sequel to 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider. The game received mostly positive reviews and was compared to Uncharted and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
The Definitive Edition will also be released for Google Stadia when the console launches on November 19, 2019. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is also available for MacOS and Linux.
The Tomb Raider franchise began in 1996 when the first Tomb Raider game was released for PC, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn (though, original work on the series began in 1993). Since its inception, the franchise has sold over 74 million copies worldwide and has a number of feature films that began with Angelina Jolie’s portrayal of Lara Croft. The role was also given to Alicia Vikander in the 2013 film reboot.
