The long-awaited sequel to the Shenmue series, Shenmue III, will be releasing an hour long demo version of the game to anyone who backed the game during development. Those who supported the game’s ongoing development process through either Kickstarter or Slacker Backer will receive access to the trial version of the game next month.
The developers YS Net have released a blog post regarding the game’s progress and what to expect in the upcoming trial release. Backers will experience a standalone act from an early stage in the game, exploring the region of Bailu Village.
In the blog post, the developers also note that players will not be able to transfer their save data form the trial version. However, they also confirm that the 1-hour demo will be replayable until the trial version expires.
The trial version for all backers of the game will be available in the second half o September for the PC on the Epic Games Store. There’s currently no official release date for Shenmue III which recently received a delay from the initial August release date.
