Shinji Mikami, Resident Evil co-creator and producer of The Evil Within 2, said in an interview with Gamespot that “He thinks a Switch version would be interesting. He’d like to try it if he had the chance.”
Check out the gameplay trailer of The Evil Within 2, featuring some gameplay footage:
Maybe Mikami-san’s desire will come true as The Rvil Within 2 is being published by the famous publisher Bethesda, who are bringing DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the Switch.
Bethesda is using a third party studio known as Panic Button to port DOOM over to the Switch, so it could happen that The Evil Within 2 gets the same treatment one day. Which is good, as Mikami doesn’t yet own a Switch himself as he stated
“First I’d like to buy a Switch myself. I had to borrow Zelda with the Switch from another staff member to play it.”
He probably is busy right now preparing for the The Evil Within 2’s launch, so we can leave him be for now.
The Evil Within 2 can be pre-ordered now. The game will launch on October 13 this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
