Konami’s upcoming Silent Hill title, Silent Hill f, has seemingly been denied classification in Australia. The refusal is noted on the official website for the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, and the Arts. A reason was not provided, but given the gruesome nature of the game, it’s no surprise that it was denied. The game’s ESRB rating highlights some of its brutal elements and features. The rating notes that players’ characters can get impaled in the neck and/or get their faces ripped apart, among other things.

Story
In 1960s Japan, teenager Shimizu Hinako lives in the small, remote town of Ebisugaoka, nestled in a mountain pass. An average teen, she passes the time with nothing particularly special about her life.
