It’s been dark times for the beloved blue blur, and things may hopefully start to shine for the struggling Sega mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog as Sega has finally announced that the 3DS platformer Sonic Boom Fire and Ice will release on September 27 2016.
Both games were originally scheduled for release at the end of last year, however, Sega decided to delay both games in order to give them a good polish and make sure that they at least meet the standards of the many pissed off Sonic fans that have been getting nothing but a steady stream of unfinished and just plain bad Sonic games, such as Sonic Boom on Wii U and the smartphone Sonic games.
Also, coming in July 22 2016, Sega will hold an Sonic event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, hopefully it will be a game featuring classic Sonic or at the very least, a Sonic game that will be true to what made Sonic great in the first place which is it’s famous platforming action at the speed of sound.
The event is set to start at 6:00PM till 10:00PM pacific time and the official party event will be held at he House of Blues, during the San Diego Comic-con, the event will feature special guests, musical performances by Crush 40 and Hyper Potions, exclusive 25th Anniversary merchandise and more
To sign up for the event, you can buy the tickets here
