Sonic Forces free DLC ‘Episode Shadow’ Announced

Sega has announced the “Epsiode Shadow” downloadable content for Sonic Forces. It will launch as a free download for everyone who purchases the game, including those who have already pre-ordered the physical editions, on launch day alongside the game

In Sonic Forces’ Episode Shadow, players get to go through three stages as Shadow. We get to find out what happened to Team Dark, which was made up of Shadow, Rouge, and E-123 Omega, and learn more about Infinite. You can also play as Shadow in 10 Modern Sonic Stages after beating them.

About one minute of Episode Shadow Gameplay footage from the PC version of Sonic Forces has been shared online, to give people an idea of what to expect from his levels.

Sonic Forces is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on November 7 in North America and Europe, and November 9 in Japan.

Specifically, the new DLC will act as a prequel to the events of Sonic Forces and, according to a description from the episode’s trailer, promises to explore “Shadow’s allegiance, the fate of Team Dark, and the origin of the mysterious villain, Infinite.”
