The State of Play as usual will run for about 20 minutes while featuring over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay captured on the Playstation 5. The broadcast will end “with some insight from a few members of the team at Avalanche Software who are bringing the Wizarding World to life.” You can tune into the live broadcast on both Twitch and YouTube.
The highly anticipated game was originally announced in 2020, but has since been delayed to 2022. Publisher Warner Bros. has stated that the game is still slated for release this year, though we have had next to no information about it since it was announced. It was rumored that an update could have showed up at last week’s general State of Play broadcast, but that rumor turned out to be false. Ultimately, this is a good thing though since we will hopefully get a lot more info on the game in a dedicated State of Play, and may even get a release date.
Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s, preceding the events of the Harry Potter books. In the game, players will be able to create a custom character and attend classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, choose their house in the Sorting Hat ceremony, explore an open world that includes the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade and more. While developer Avalanche is partnering with Sony for this event, Hogwarts Legacy is set to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
