A new rumor has started on the Reset Era forums, user KatharsisT suggested that Sony is preparing a big reveal of the PS5 games. One user of the forum asked if the rumored Silent Hill reboot is going to be announced at the upcoming showcase, KatharsisT suggested that it’s possible while teasing May as the month when Sony and Konami would announce the project.

As with all unofficial information, this should be taken with a grain of salt. Sony Interactive Entertainment has not teased, or suggested any upcoming event. There is also Konami’s confirmation that a new Silent Hill game is not being produced at the moment. But there is a chance that, Konami was just playing safe and didn’t want to announce a game until they’ve actually started the development.

2020 has seen plenty of rumors surrounding the Silent Hill saga, the original game launched for the PlayStation as Konami’s response to the success of Resident Evil. Now that there is a resurgence in the genre thanks to the Resident Evil 2 Remake and the Resident Evil 3 Remake, the timing seems perfect for a reboot of the psychological horror game.
Kojima Productions have plenty of time on their hands after the release of Death Stranding, some of the rumors that were around in the begging of the year where thanks to Kojima Production’s potential tease of Silent Hill.
AestheticGamer has been the leading source of rumors for the new Silent Hill, he said that Konami was looking for developers and a publishing partner, a publishing giant, to share the production costs. Sony Interactive Entertainment was picked by Konami to make the game a reality. According to the AestheticGamer, Sony would add the funds required if only, they could hold the rights for the game, essentially making it a PlayStation exclusive.
