Spider-Man Sequel May Be In The Works

According to a now-deleted tweet from Miles Morales actor Nadji Jeter, the follow-up to the Insomniac game Marvel’s Spider-Man might be in the works.  The tweet in question depicted Nadji in full mo-cap as his face was being touched up by somebody else. Shortly after posting he was most likely asked to remove it but as we all know the internet is forever.

While both the image and the caption do not reveal what the project in question is, Nadji has become most well known for his role as Miles. He portrayed the character in the first game in the series, as well as the standalone expansion starring Miles Morales. He has also portrayed the character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Prior to that, he had a small role as Sam in The Last of Us. Currently, the Spider-Man series has been the only franchise he has been working on.

There is always the possibility that this is not a project related to Insomniac or Spider-Man. The internet collectively ran with the speculation that this was definitely a hint, which could have contributed to him actually deleting it. If motion capturing is going on then the project, if it is indeed what is being suspected, is only in the early stages of development.

Insomniac Games only has one project that is confirmed to be in development currently, and that is a multiplayer title. It is not impossible, but certainly unlikely that the project will relate to the Spider-Man series. It is almost a guarantee at this point that a new Spider-Man will be made if this isn’t related. Insomniac was purchased by Sony shortly after the major success of the game, and most likely a sequel and not just an expansion was part of that plan.
