With the PlayStation 5 out, and generation hops always tending to bring titles to the forefront, Bloodborne has come back into the dialog in a big way. Rumors have been circulating that there might be a remaster of the PlayStation 4 classic coming. On top of that, yet another rumor has joined the fray, this one is about a PlayStation 5 exclusive, spiritual Successor to Bloodborne that might be in the works over at FromSoftware.
FromSoftware has interesting development cycles, it would not be outside the realm of possibility that a new game is already in development. Bloodborne also has a passionate fan base that has been craving more love for the game, since it has laid dormant for quite some time. Recently the company has worked on new IPs, including of the year winner Sekiro, and the upcoming Elden Ring.
Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.
These rumors are brought to you by the same person who leaked information about Sekiro, Deracine, and Elden Ring. While he does have a solid record, as with all rumors, This should be taken with a grain of salt. The information was first posted by Industry Insider Ruancarlo from Brazil.
Essentially the gist is that the game is not directly related to Bloodborne, but is meant to play or feel like the game. He also states that the current name that the game is being developed under the name ‘Velvet Veil’. That could be the title of the game, or subject to change, as that remains unclear.
He then goes on to outline a release plan for the game, stating that March 2023 is being targeted for a release window. He claims that we will not hear anything about the game till after the release of Elden Ring on January 22, 2021. This would make sense, not wanting to split focus from an upcoming game. Underneath this tweet, he embedded a forum photo from the original leaks of Dark Souls Remastered.
If it is a successor to Bloodborne you can bet that fans will be excited about it. Hopefully, we will start to hear more soon.
