Nintendo confirmed today that the next big Splatoon 2 update, better known by fans as version 4.1.0, will arrive next week. This update will bring the recently unveiled Skipper Pavilion stage, the Booyah Bombs special weapon, and much more.
The new 4.1.0 update will also introduce new sub and special weapons, these will be part of the game’s new Kensa Collection series. It will also be coming two new music tracks, one called “Chopscrewey” and the other “Entropical”, these tracks come from Splatoon 2 newcomers SashiMori. All this content will be free to Splatoon 2 owners, and will be releasing on October 2nd in North America and a day later in Europe and Japan.

Eurogamer said in a post on their website:
“It’s unclear, however, if Skipper Pavilion will be the final map to be added to Splatoon 2 of any kind. Some have pointed out that Nintendo’s specific use of the word “new” might suggest that a few more maps from the original Splatoon are planned for introduction before year’s end.
So far, eight classic maps have come to Splatoon 2 (the last being Ancho-V Games), still leaving Saltspray Rig, Urchin Underpass, Bluefin Depot, Flounder Heights, Hammerhead Bridge, Museum D’Alfosino, and Mahi-Mahi Resort as candidates for a revival.”
About Splatoon 2
The squid kids called Inklings are back to splat more ink and claim more turf in this colorful and chaotic 4-on-4 action shooter.
For the first time, take Turf War battles on-the-go with the Nintendo Switch™ system, and use any of the console’s portable play styles for intense local multiplayer* action. Even team up for new 4-player co-op fun in Salmon Run!
Two years have passed since the original Splatoon™ game was released, and two years have also passed in Inkopolis! So expect a fresh wave of fashion, not to mention new weapons and gear. Dual wield the new Splat Dualies or stick to mainstays like chargers and rollers, which have been remixed with new strategic possibilities. As always, Turf War is the favored sport among Inklings, but they also dig ranked battles, taking down Octarians in a robust single-player campaign, and battling enemy Salmonids in one dangerous part-time job! No matter which way you play, splat at home or on-the-go with Nintendo Switch. Staying fresh never felt so good.
