According to a recent report from Insider Gaming, Splinter Cell remake is “making progress” at Ubisoft Toronto. The report claims that the game codename North, is being developed on the new Snowdrop Engine. The engine is new for the series and has been used to develop recent titles including Star Wars Outlaws. The report also states that sources suggest that a release date could come in 2026. The Splinter Cell remake is being remade from the ground up with enhanced visuals. According to a scriptwriter job listing back in 2022, the upcoming Splinter Cell remake will have “new-generation visuals and gameplay” while retaining the “spirit” of the earlier games. The job listing also notes its responsibilities, such as creating dialogue for in-game VO alongside NPC dialogue, developing character arcs, and “revising and editing dialogue based on director/lead feedback to ensure quality and consistency.” The Ubisoft remake was announced in December 2021.
