Today on May 21, 1047 Games were to release their new free-to-play arena shooter, Splitgate: Arena Warfare. Unfortunately, the new Halo-like shooter with portals will be delayed until Friday the 24th.
That’s right, Splitgate will be releasing on the 24th and 1047 Games announced on Twitter, two hours before official release, the reason for the delay.
“We are very close, but we need a bit more time to polish things out and want to make sure the day 1 experiences is great for everyone. We are very sorry but this Friday will be great and will be worth it…”
Of course there have been plenty of complaints from people who were eagerly waiting for the release complaining about how it was only two hours away from being released.
Additionally, 1047 games released a statement on Twitter, regarding the final touches that they want to implement in the game.
“To the Splitgate community,
No one is as disappointed as we are that we have had to delay Splitgate’s launch.
The Splitgate development team has been working nonstop, around the clock since the open beta to implement improvements, take your feedback, and fix bugs. We were hopeful that we would meet the deadline. We deeply apologize for the short notice on the delay…
We also know how frustrating it is to play games that are buggy or release to soon.
We really thought we were good to go, but our final build in the early morning hours had a few problems that needed to be addressed in order for us to release at a quality that we are proud of.
So again, we deeply apologize and hope you’ll stick with us. We hope it will be worth the wait!”
It would seem that the developers are as disappointed as their fans about the recent delay, but luckily it’s being pushed back a couple days rather than a couple of weeks.
