The third and latest Grand Prix season in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is here and it brings a highly-demanded character to the roster. The purple dragon who received his own remake last year, Spyro the Dragon, is available as an unlockable character after earning enough Nitro canister points in the CTR Grand Prix season.

Titled ‘The Spyro & Friends” Grand Prix is in full swing as of now as Spyro along with a couple of other friends from the Spyro the Dragon series are making their way into the game. Spyro, his helpful feline friend Hunter and the Gnasty Gnorc will be the available characters to unlock during the season.
There will also be three new karts for the game to unlock, including the Spyromobile, Gnasty Ride and Dragonfly will see players ripping through the courses as added karts to the growing collection of customizable rides for the kart racing game. And, of course, a new track called Spyro Circuit will hit the game, offering some Spyro themed racing fever to the already brilliant experience.
And, as always, new items will also hit the game via the in-game store the Pit Stop, providing plenty of incentive to grinding out races online for more racing fun. there’s plenty of new additions hitting the game since its release back in June along with the introduction of the Grand Prix feature which launched in July. The feature utilizes players collection Nitro canisters in order to unlock new content, such as kart bodies, characters, paint jobs and wheels along with providing a brand new course on theme with the current season. Seasons last right around a month and offer loads of new content to unlock.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is currently available on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch. And while microtransactions have been implemented post-launch, they’re not entirely necessary as long as you’re willing to grind out races online for the best results in acquiring the most Wumpa Coins and Nitro canisters.
