Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VII Remake Still Multi-Part Release

During Sony’s second State of Play episode, the silence that ailed the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally broken with a brand-new gameplay trailer. While fans were essentially delighted to see many of their favorite FFVII characters reborn in modern graphics, there’s still plenty of topics to discuss regarding the remake.

One topic which has been largely debated since the game’s announcement was the inclusion of a multi-part release for the game. While the remake of the lengthy RPG will no doubt produce a massive experience, it was still a little interesting to see Square Enix opt for a multi-part series approach rather than one big title release.

While development of the remake has been ditched and restarted with a new team, the original vision of the multi-part release still seems to be in place. A Japanese blog post from Square Enix confirms this, stating “For Final Fantasy VII Remake, which will be reborn on PlayStation 4, there is a lot of content to review in doing a full remake, and production is underway as multiple parts.”

The game was said to be comprised of three big parts to complete the entire adventure. There has also been rumors claiming the game will be adding some new features which could also extend the game considerably. As for now, we’ll just have to wait for more updates on the game as they come. More information was teased at the end of the State of Play trailer hinting at an update for the game to come in June.

Stay tuned for more details on the Final Fantasy VII Remake once they release.
