Square Enix says Final Fantasy XV DLC is not cut content from base game

Final Fantasy 15’s planned DLC is definitely not content cut from the core experience which the publisher can then get players to pay for at a later date, Square Enix has said.

Here’s a statement handed out to Gematsu:

“This might give you an idea of some of the things you can expect in the future. Unfortunately we can’t show you what any of the DLC looks like… The reason for this may surprise you (well, maybe…) The truth is that the DLC is not ready to show because while it has been designed, we will begin the development once the final game is in your hands.

The FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game just to sell to you later. This is really important because we want everyone who buys and plays the FFXV base game to know they are getting the full FFXV experience. The FFXV DLC will add new and unique experiences to the FFXV Universe with each piece of DLC designed to offer something brand new. So I’ll say it again because it’s important – the FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game!”

Here’s a recap of what’s included in the Season Pass:

  • DLC 1: Booster Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 2: Episode Gladio (Working Title)
  • DLC 3: Holiday Pack (Working Title)
  • DLC 4: Episode Ignis (Working Title)
  • DLC 5: Episode Prompto (Working Title)
  • DLC 6: Expansion Pack (Working Title)

The Season Pass Upgrade is $24.99 USD for owners of Final Fantasy XV.
